Dr. Shadrooz Moazzam is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences at Clemson University, where she collaborates with Dr. Stamatikos’ laboratory on the pathobiology of atherosclerosis. She earned her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in 2017 and has since pursued a career that bridges clinical practice and translational research, with work spanning cardiovascular disease and cancer biology. She also served as a Visiting Research Scholar in the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Cell Biology at the University of South Carolina and MUSC from 2024 to 2025, where she expanded her expertise in molecular and cellular approaches to human disease.

In her current position, Dr. Moazzam studies the mechanisms that drive atherosclerosis, with particular emphasis on vascular inflammation and cholesterol efflux. Her research aims to develop novel strategies for prevention and treatment, and with her multidisciplinary background, she seeks to advance precision medicine approaches that improve the management of chronic diseases.
