I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University, based at the Institute for Human Genetics. Before beginning my doctoral studies, I earned an M.S. in Genetics from Clemson University and worked as a Bioinformatics Analyst in the Diagnostics Division at the Greenwood Genetic Center. My work there focused on automating clinical genomics pipelines and integrating next-generation sequencing workflows across AWS and Emedgene platforms.
My current research under Dr. Shyamalika Gopalan focuses on using population-scale methylation and variant data to investigate the genetic and epigenetic architecture of aging. I am particularly interested in how ancestry and admixture shape methylation patterns and how these patterns reflect conserved biological processes underlying age-related decline.
Research Interests
My research combines population genomics, epigenetics, and computational modeling to understand how genetic variation and epigenetic regulation interact across diverse human populations. Currently, I’m analyzing large sample sizes of long-read methylation data to construct genome-wide methylation matrices and identify methylation quantitative trait loci (meQTLs). Ultimately, I aim to develop computational frameworks that reveal how molecular diversity contributes to human aging and evolutionary adaptation.
