Biosketch

I am from Mumbai, India and I have joined the Witt Lab as a PhD student in the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University in the fall of 2024. I received my bachelor’s degree in life sciences and master’s degree in anthropology. Post this, I have worked in various research projects in the field of human genetics, human gut microbiome and socio-cultural anthropology. For a brief period, I have also worked in the field of market research and conducted studies on consumers of various psychographics. I love to travel, explore various cuisines, watch anime and play badminton and video games.

Research Interests

I have always been fascinated by the human evolution and wished to study it through the analysis of ancient DNA. I am primarily interested is conducting research on the archaic human groups such as Denisovans and Neanderthals. I am interested to study their migration patterns and interactions with each other as well as their interactions with anatomically modern humans. Additionally, I am interested to study how these introgressions affect the health of anatomically modern humans.
