We are actively seeking enthusiastic people who are interested in quantum physics and chemistry. We have multiple openings for Ph.D. students and postdoctoral scholars. Short-term undergraduate students are also welcome. These positions are primarily based on Emory University, but have the flexibility to be turned into Clemson-based if the candidates prefer. Please send your CV to Prof. Wang.

Postdoctoral Scholar: We are seeking 1-2 postdoctoral scholars with a keen interest and expertise in the following areas: (1) Numerical simulation of strongly correlated many-body systems, including solid-state materials and quantum simulator platforms, utilizing unbiased quantum many-body methods and massively parallel computing. (2) Development of innovative quantum chemistry or quantum physics methods, encompassing both classical-computer-based algorithms and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms. (3) Analysis of nonequilibrium materials or molecules through a blend of numerical and analytical methods.

Applicants should possess a solid grounding in second quantization models, linear algebra, and advanced quantum mechanics. Proficiency in one or several advanced quantum many-body methods, with the capacity for further developments, is essential. We highly encourage candidates with backgrounds in condensed matter theory and quantum chemistry to apply. This position offers a competitive salary, university benefits, and travel funds for conferences. Exceptional candidates may also be recommended for qualified fellowships. Our postdocs will benefit from collaborative opportunities with experimental groups across various universities and national laboratories.

Graduate Student: We are looking for 1-2 talented graduate students interested in joining our team. Projects will align with one of four research directions: quantum materials, quantum dynamics, quantum simulation, and quantum algorithms. Ideal candidates should be conversant with linear algebra and quantum mechanics and proficient in at least one programming language. While backgrounds in advanced quantum mechanics (including second quantization), solid-state physics, quantum computing, and quantum many-body methods are preferred, we also welcome enthusiastic learners with the capability to assimilate new knowledge. Students will be expected to focus on one or two unbiased numerical methods and engage in calculations using supercomputing clusters. Theoretical derivations and foundational numerical developments may be part of their research subjects in senior years.

Undergraduate Student: We offer research opportunities for exceptional undergraduate students, including short-term internships out of Emory. Ideal candidates should have a strong foundation in linear algebra and familiarity with quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics. In addition to physics knowledge, basic proficiency in C++, Fortran, or Python is preferable.
