Biosketch

I am originally from Kaiserslautern, Germany, and moved to the United States in 2018 to pursue my bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Akron while participating in D1 athletics as a member of the Track & Field team.

Currently, I am a second-year graduate student in the G&B department working towards my PhD in Dr. Miriam Konkel’s lab.

In addition, I also serve as a senator for the biochemistry department in the graduate school government, as well as a social media ambassador for the Biochemistry and Genetics Graduate School Association.

Research

My research focus in the field of genomics includes deducing evolutionary and structural changes in regions within the Y-chromosome through analysis of long- and short-read data sets.
