Dr. Yawei Shen

I received my bachelor’s degree from Department of Biology, Henan University of Technology (China), then I obtained my master’s degree and Ph.D. from College of Fisheries and Life, Shanghai Ocean University (China). During the last year of Ph.D., I studied biology at University of Algarve (Portugal). Then, I got a lecturer at Henan Normal University (China). Now, I joined Department of Biological Sciences, Clemson University (US) as Postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Qing Liu’s lab.


The main research interests are transcriptomics, bioinformatics, and epigenetics and focus on the gene-regulation and metabolic remodeling during cardiomyocyte differentiation from the histomorphology and molecular level.
