Jordan Brooks

Jordan is from Bowie, MD. She attend Towson University where she majored in forensic chemistry with a concentration in DNA analysis. She is now minoring in chemistry and biology. She is a part of the Hill-Lopes Scholar program, which is a leadership/mentorship program that supports women in STEM. She is also starting the accelerated bachelors to master’s program at Towson next semester, with the hopes to work on getting her MS in forensic science at Towson. Research wise, she has done nutritional and agricultural research with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s AFRI REEU internship under the mentorship of Dr. Victoria Volkis and plan on doing forensic research next year at Towson with Dr. Kelly Elkins. Other than science focused activities, she enjoys reading. During the visit, Jordan will join Dr. Garcia‘s lab and she will be working on the development and application of wearable biosensors.
