Joining the Laboratory

We are always looking for good people to join the laboratory. If you are interested in joining our lab, please read below.

Prospective Undergraduate Students

We are looking for hardworking, reliable, and self-motivated undergraduates to join the lab! If you are a Clemson Undergraduate, we have opportunities not only for physics undergraduates, but also students majoring in electrical engineering, computer science, and mathematics. Summer support is also available. Please contact me if you are interested in joining the lab.

If you are an undergraduate outside of Clemson University, please feel free to contact me about whether you would like to join the laboratory over the summer. Funding may be available.

Prospective Graduate Students

I am always interested in having strong, self-motivated students join my laboratory as a graduate student. You are welcome to email me with specific questions about current projects within the laboratory and whether I plan to take students. Funding for Research Assistantships is usually available for students in the Physics Ph.D. program, although typically after they have passed the first year graduate courses.

You must be accepted to the Ph.D. program in Physics and you can apply through the Graduate College. I cannot personally admit you to our program.

If you are a current Clemson Graduate student in a department other than the Physics and Astronomy Department but interested in joining my lab, please read the following carefully. I am interested in students who specialize in electrical engineering, computer science/engineering, and mathematics. However, I receive several emails each year from graduate students in other departments asking if I have assistantships available. I expect that if you were to work with me, you will write a thesis and/or produce a publication under my direction (or co-advised by me). If you cannot fulfill the thesis/publication requirement, it is not worth your time contacting me.

Prospective Postdoctoral Fellows

Depending on availability of funding, postdoctoral positions may be available within my laboratory. These positions will also be posted in the CEDAR, SPA, and GEM Newsletter. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in joining the lab.
