Custom Websites for Labs, Centers or Student Groups
The College of Science Communications and Marketing Department can help your center or lab build a modern, accessible, responsive custom website. If you are thinking about creating a site, this is your best solution. All sites are built in a content-management system to facilitate updates, and there is currently no fixed ongoing operational costs to centers or labs. Once a site is designed, you only pay for changes made by our team.
Several Options Meet Different Needs
Three levels of design are available, plus a custom option for very large and complex sites. This is the only external solution blessed by the College of Science for center and lab sites. Centers and labs are responsible for paying setup and design fees. A “setup only” option is available for those who wish to build their own sites in the College of Science CMS. We set things up, your team builds the site, and we assist if needed. The Setup Only option can be done quickly. Pricing varies based on level. Contact us for details.
- Level 1: These are standard websites with typical functionality. Content includes text and images. Posts can be updated from within the site. Minimal or no external feeds or connections.
- Level 2: These sites add more external connectivity if required. Moderate amounts of abstract or research paper content. A news feed may be added.
- Level 3: These sites include heavy template modifications or customizations, heavy abstract content, and more external feeds.
Give Us Six Weeks — We’ll Give You a Website
Our experience is that most websites will fall into Level 1 or Level 2. Sites are often built by a University-approved contractor on a mutually agreed timeline following one or more meetings. A site typically takes up to six weeks to complete.
