Biosketch<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Kazi Jewel Rana is originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh and holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology as well as an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He later earned a master\u2019s degree in Applied Statistics and Data Science from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. Kazi joined Clemson University\u2019s School of Computing in 2022 to pursue a Ph.D. in Biomedical Data Science and Informatics and is currently working in the lab of Dr. Aaron Masino. Alongside his studies, Kazi serves as the President of the 2025\u201326 Clemson Graduate Student Government, where he leads initiatives to enhance student resources, academic advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration.<\/p>\n

Research Interests<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Kazi\u2019s research focuses on developing computational approaches to integrate multi-omic datasets for rare disease prediction and interpretation. He builds knowledge graphs that combine genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data with deep learning to explore genotype\u2013phenotype relationships. He is particularly interested in aligning embeddings from splicing prediction models with biomedical knowledge graphs to generate mechanistic hypotheses, with applications in splicing variant pathogenicity, disease mechanisms, and clinical interpretation.<\/p>\n
