Biosketch<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I graduated from Georgia College & State University in 2021 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. As an undergraduate student, I worked in Dr. Andrei L. Barkovskii\u2019s aquatic microbiology lab and there discovered my passion for research. I decided to continue my education under my undergraduate mentor and in May of 2023, I earned my M.S. in Biology from Georgia College. My Master’s thesis was centered around the heterogeneity among Vibrio<\/em> Harveyi-clade pathogens present in the Southeast United States. I started my PhD at Clemson University under Dr. Qing Liu in fall of 2023, and I am ecstatic to navigate the world of cardiovascular toxicology in his lab. Outside of the lab, I enjoy exploring the beautiful scenery of Upstate South Carolina.<\/p>\n

Research<\/strong><\/h2>\n

My PhD research will focus on the mechanisms by which mitochondria in cardiomyocytes become damaged and dysregulated due to drug exposure (like chemotherapy) and lead to cardiovascular diseases.<\/p>\n
