This allowed me to fully immerse myself in the lab, something I couldn&#8217;t do during the busy fall and spring semesters.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your research?<\/strong><br \/>\nMy research focuses on repurposing thymosin beta-4 (TB4) as a potential treatment for Acanthamoeba keratitis (AK), a severe eye infection. TB4 has shown promising effects intreating corneal degenerative diseases. My project, titled &#8220;Assessing thymosin beta-4 as a novel treatment for <em>Acanthamoeba keratitis<\/em>,&#8221; aims to explore this therapeutic potential for AK<br \/>\ninfection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What has been the impact of the Seifert Scholars on your career?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Seifert Scholars program has been instrumental in shaping my career path. Through it, I discovered my passion for research, which ultimately led me to pursue a master\u2019s degree in Dr. Temesvari\u2019s lab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the next step of your career?<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter obtaining my Master\u2019s in Biological Sciences, I plan to continue my career in research, specifically in the industry sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What attracted you to the Seifert Scholars program?
