February: Hands-on RNAseq Workshop

When: Monday, February 24 & Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Where: Life Sciences Facility 242, 190 Collings St., Clemson, SC, 29634

As part of the Clemson University Genomics and Bioinformatics Facility’s mission to make next-generation sequencing and analysis accessible, we are pleased to offer a two-day practical workshop on RNAseq and differential gene expression (DGE) analyses. Participants will be walked through a simple RNAseq analysis pipleline including raw data processing, read mapping, DGE, and interpreting outputs. Users will be introduced to software including FastQC, TrimGalore, RSEM, Bowtie2, featureCounts, edgeR and DESeq2. All users will be provided example data.

If you are not a regular user of Linux/Palmetto, then you are required to attend CITI’s Introduction to Linux workshop or request exemption due to proficiency in Linux prior to the full RNAseq Workshop. This is necessary to make sure that the RNAseq Workshop is not your first experience with Linux.

CITI’s Introduction to Linux (REQUIRED):
Time: Tuesday, Feb 04, 9:00AM – 12:00PM.
Building/Room: Cooper Library/Room 406A

(If enrolling in the RNAseq workshop after 2/4/2020, please email rooksan@clemson.edu)

CITI’s Introduction to Research Computing on Palmetto Cluster (strongly recommended):
Time: Thursday, Feb 06, 1:00PM – 4:00PM
