Biosketch
I received my B.Sc. in Biology with a minor in Public Health in 2022 from Agnes Scott College. As an undergraduate, I was a member of Dr. Jennifer Kovacs’ lab where I researched horizontal gene transfer in arthropod species to discover why particular functional genes are transferred, retained, and utilized. I built and cleaned genomic databases using NCBI and created phylogenetic trees for candidate genes.
Research interests
I am a molecular genetics technician at Clemson University’s Center for Human Genetics. I am tasked with supporting the ongoing research in the COBRE in Human Genetics by preparing samples, extracting genomic DNA and RNA, and preparing genomic libraries.
