BioSketch

I was born in Denver, CO and was raised in the surrounding area. I graduated from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with dual degrees in Biology and Biochemistry. During this time, I worked under Dr. Jeremy Bono, studying evolutionary genetics, sex competition, and RNA involved in reproduction. Now, I am here at Clemson and excited to see where the world of Genetics can lead me.

Research

My research interests lie in genetics and gene expression. I am fascinated by the ability of little strings of molecules to influence our lives in ways beyond our comprehension. I am currently in Dr. Tara Doucet-O’Hare’s lab, looking at epigenetics and the role that repetitive elements can play in disease. More holistically, I am interested in doing research that will help people. Science is a great tool for helping people, and by moving science forward, we can all work toward a better world.
